rides for girls with girls

this just in from Sheila regarding this Sunday’s Cyclocross event at the Dieppe Rotary Park. If you aren’t there to ride, at least come check out the race and see how much fun it is. The short course will be beneficial to spectators!

“Want to burn off those Halloween treats you stole from your children? Come on out to the third cyclocross race of the season. This week we’re back in Dieppe but you won’t have to worry about the course being the same as the first one - course demon Luc has come up with a different way to make you muddy and sore. The race start time is a little later this race - 1:30 for the big race but before that there will be a Halloween ride for the little folks so be sure to bring any wee ones you have in your household - there will be treats for them as well as a fun ride.
Sign on and number pick up are from noon to 1:00 - bring your Velo NB road race numbers if you can find them.

Just a reminder that this Tuesday, October 27th is the last of the MBS Cup cross series events. If you haven’t tried it I suggest you come check out the fun!!! It starts at 6pm at the Rotary Park in Dieppe.

Congratulations to Rheal for his 4th place finish in this past weekend’s provincial cross race held by Darling’s Island Bike Shop!

Also, this in from Sheila at Velo NB:

Hello Velo NB Member

If you made it to the first cross race you know how much fun tearing about the countryside on a bicycle can be. If you missed that one, here’s your chance to take in the next one. I have attached the race flyer for Sunday’s race in Nauwigewauk which is easier to find than it is to spell. Don’t let the weather forecast scare you off - cross is actually more fun in worse weather - or perhaps it’s just that it feels so good when you stop!

So here’s the cross series schedule

#1 Oct 18 - Dieppe - 31 riders came out and had a blast
#2 Oct 25 - Nauwigewauk
#3 Nov 1 - Dieppe
#4 Nov 8 - Fredericton

If by then you are so hooked you need more cross there is a series in Halifax that continues until Dec 6.

This just in from Sheila at Velo NB…

Hello all:

The first cyclocross race of the Velo NB Cross series will be held this coming Sunday but we have had to make a venue change. Due to unforeseen circumstances the event can not be held in Sussex after all. The Atlantic Cycling Centre has graciously stepped up and agreed to host a race on this date.

Details: Oct 18th, start time is 11:00 AM, registration from 9:30 to 10:30
Rotary Parc, Melanson Rd., Dieppe
Course - 45 minutes plus one lap.
Fee - not yet determined, probably $15, prizes will be given as a percentage of the registration fee.
Categories - A, B, C and D - D being the one day licence riders.
Cyclocross and mountain bikes are welcome.

Anyone who has ridden a cross race at the Centre knows Luc Arseneau is an awesome cross designer who knows how to lay out a excellent and fun course. If you have never ridden cross you should come out and get hooked - it is the most fun racing you can do on two wheels. The races are very spectator friendly - bring your cow bells. Any questions? - drop me a line.

You do not want to miss this race. Hope to see you there.
