The Mike’s Bike Shop Cup is a regional racing series which lets cyclists of the area participate in friendly meets. This series is open to riders 15 year old and up and is run under a points format (combining the 18 events).

Every Tuesday, draw prizes and series leader’s recognition will be awarded. All race start at 6:30 unless otherwise noted. Riders must be registered and paid for that evening by 6:15 (or use our on-line system).

single event now cost 7$ and we encourage participants to sign up on-line for more then a race at a time and take advantage of our discount. The cost to register for a decipline (3 events) will be 15$ and for the whole series (18 races) is 100$.

Starting May 10, participants will enjoy three Tuesdays of mountain bike (cross country) racing (May 10, 17 & 24) at the Dieppe St-Anselme Park.

In June (8, 15 & 22) the racing switches to Individual Time Trial at the Moncton airport – parking is on Aviation Ave with the start at the on ramp to the Highway. The route follows the Veterans Memorial Hwy, exit onto the Trans Canada Highway then exit onto Champlain St and turn right onto Aviation Ave with the finish at the parking area.

For July, we will have events on the Caisse populaire Dieppe Vélodrome. These races will be opened to everyone who took their Track 101 course (or equivalent). Track 101 will be offered throughout the summer and before the events. Race dates are July 6, 15 & 20.

In August racing moves back on the road with the criterium series (Aug 10, 17 & 24). The race circuit will be announced later – watch the web site for details.

Last, but not least, we will hold 3 cyclo-cross events in October (12, 19 & 26) to conclude the series with our famous Boo-Cross event.

This Saturday marks the final cross country / endurance event with the ever popular Elgin.

Just a reminder that Incline Sports will be hosting the 4 Hours of French Fort Cove this coming weekend.

Saturday will see the Fat Boy Crit and Velo Tour, Sunday is the 4 hour event.

Click here to find out more information.

Next up on the Endurance event list is the Four Hours of French Fort Cove, held on Sunday, September 20th by Incline Sports in the Miramichi. Incline representation, Angie Vickers recently told me that she is putting together a great gals prize package to help encourage more women to come out and challenge themselves in the sport.

This event is extremely well run and the course is fantastic. The course is laid out for every ability level (more advanced riders are given a few small routing detours along the trail for extra challenge. The 11km loop features about 9km of sweet, flowy singletrack.

Event details can be found at: Velo NB. Click HERE for the official event web site.

Calling all gals for a fun, skill building mountain bike ride thursday evening. We’ll just play on the trails and learn some skills, hone some skills we’ve got and have a few laughs along the way. This is NOT a hammer fest - intro level riders and up are encouraged.

How about lets meet at the Rotary Park in Dieppe for 6:30pm (by the Velodrome)

For those interested as well, there is maintenance being done on the Velodrome Thursday starting at 6 if you wanted to lend a hand and / or see the revamped track take shape.

The Hillsborough 5 Hour event was a grand success yesterday despite Mother Nature’s downpouring all week. Yes, the trail was MORE than muddy, but that didn’t stop a pile of folks from all over Atlantic Canada and a few folks from Ontario even from coming out, having fun and showing support for the Atlantic Cycling Center. Racers came from Halifax, New Glasgow, PEI, Fredericton, the Miramichi and everywhere in between!

The women were well represented in the solo, team of two women and mixed team of two categories, with Fitwork’s girls taking the top two solo placings. The Fitwork’s males were also well represented with several top honours.

Strong performances were shown by all on this challengingly wet course. Congratulations everyone!

Thanks to Don Ricker who has posted many photos of the day on his site, click HERE to view.
